Cascadia Times publishes environmental journalism from the Cascadia Bioregion: Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, Montana, Idaho and Northern California, as well as marine ecosystems in the North Pacific Ocean, the Bering Sea and the Arctic.

Cascadia Times investigates governmental and corporate decisions and actions that affect the environment in the Cascadia Bioregion, with an emphasis on making connections between people, wildlife and habitats. We seek not only to inform citizens but to empower the people and organizations working to protect our environmental resources and heritage.

Cascadia Times is a member of The Media Consortium, a national network of independent and community outlets that partner with culturally specific communities and social justice movements to build a better world. We see social justice movements as valuable partners and allies in the journalism that we produce.

In 2009, the print version of Cascadia Times Magazine ceased publication as we decided to focus our energies on producing news for our website. For several years Cascadia Times focused on publishing online articles about air quality in Oregon.

In 2018, we decided to relaunch Cascadia Times under the premise of refocusing on the forests of the Pacific Northwest. After traveling and writing several award-winning articles on the forest, we realized that we had too much material and we wanted to write a book. We are happy to say we are publishing Canopy of Titans: The Life and Times of the Great North American Temperate Rainforest through OR Books, NY, and London.
